Now this place is a very special to us (it’s where we got engaged)!
The colors and the scenery were absolutely breathtaking wherever we were. Sadly, we only had our phones to take these photos, so it definitely doesn’t do it justice. These photos are from two trips we made up to Whistler. We definitely had the idea that we would love to possibly retire here… but we decided the cold and snow is too harsh for us. 😅
The first time we visited, we car-camped in our FJ Cruiser at Cal-Cheak Recreation Site. The second time we actually stayed in Whistler village. This village is SO cozy and adorable. It almost feels like the whole town is from a movie set. If Whistler isn’t on your travel list yet, it needs to be!
Cheakamus Lake Trail, Garibaldi Provincial Park

Literally pointing everywhere and telling Michael how much I couldn’t believe how blue and how still the lake was.

Peak 2 Peak Gondola, Whistler BC

The gondola rides get pretty crowded because it is a tourist attraction, so I made a joke to Michael that he, “should fake propose to me on the gondola, so we can get one on our own on the way back down.” His palms were so sweaty and I had no idea that when we got off the gondola later, he was actually already planning to propose!!
Whistler Mountain, BC Canada

We never really talked about weddings, engagements, or anything like that. Of course we knew we wanted to be together, but I definitely never talked to him about rings. So this was a huge shock!

I felt my lungs inflate with the onrush of scenery—air, mountains, trees, people. I thought, ‘This is what it is to be happy. Sylvia Plath
